ABOUT THE FOUNDER Born in Oceanside, CA. in 1952 John Valenti grew up in Southern California and in 1973 he moved up to the San Francisco bay area on a job transfer as a printer / lithographer. It was in this job he recieved his first introduction to photography, his employer was a professional photographer and set up a seperate color darkroom for the employees to use. "That is when my passion started for photography, color and space and continues every day of my life" In 1977 John opened Valco Graphics and among other things he shot products and designed brochures and printed them on his presses for his clients. Aproximatly 12 years later he started publishing his own works which are still in print today. "Lighting and Composition are the most important elements to a good photograph," says John. "I think of photography as painting with light" |
